This and That...
Well, I'm now on day 3 of taking the stim drugs. Still, luckily, no reactions which I'm happy to report. My only thing? Well, I'm black and blue all over my legs and belly. Yes, I bruise easily but this is ridiculous. You can definitely tell where I've been giving myself the shots, it's all documented by some mark somewhere. I go to the doctor in 2 days and we'll determine exactly when the transfer and stuff happens next week. Oh yeah, and then go spend more money to refill the above mentioned drugs.
Total change of topic. So the other night I caught the second half of Oprah's "My Favorite Things" where she showers the audience with gifts of her favorite things. Some of it looked so awesome. I totally want to get the Nike ID shoes that you don't need socks and can design your own colors. BIL Gary has a few pair of those design your own Nike's and they look so cool. I also want one of those Kashwere bathrobes. Carly, for some reason, has it in her mind that I need a new bathrobe and maybe even match one with her. This one looks awfully soft. And of course, there's the usual yummy croissants, brownies, cookies that all look yummy too. I never watch Oprah but I do try to catch that show. It's so much fun.
Family photos. We finally took family photos 2 weeks ago. I'll be giving them to the family for Hanukkah but I need to post them here for the few others that check out my blog on occasion. My family doesn't so I don't think I'm giving away too much. Enjoy!!

Lupron - Day 5
Well, I've been taking the shots for 5 days. So far, I'm not feeling anything other than a little more tired. I suppose that's actually a good thing. Not hormonal hell or if so, will anyone notice the difference? LOL. Seriously, I do feel fine except for the tiredness. I go to the doctor on Wednesday for a check up and we'll see from there. Hopefully, it won't get too much worse. The shots haven't been as hard as I thought. Thin needles and really not any worse than acupuncture so that's a plus. I just pray that the whole process takes. I can't imagine going through this again. The emotions, the timing, the expense. Ugh, filled the prescriptions which cost in the ballpark of what I've spent on scrapbooking supplies this year and it's not even the full lot. More to spend. I can't believe my insurance doesn't cover more.
Gregg's off to NY for the Thanksgiving Day Parade. He'll be home Thursday afternoon. I'm hoping to get some scrapbooking and holiday projects done while he's gone. Of course, that all depends on if Miss Carly cooperates. I've got an ambitious list of projects I need to get done for everyone. I hope I can do it all.
And so it begins...
Tomorrow morning. My first shot of Lupron. Not looking forward to it. I got a big bag of drugs, syringes, alcohol wipes, disposal box, etc. All the lovely paraphernalia I'll need to HOPEFULLY get pregnant. I'm so emotionally torn about this process. I just hope it all works, that's all I can say. I spent a bloody fortune today at the pharmacy and that was AFTER whatever the insurance kicked in. Lovely. I don't think I've spent that much on SB supplies this year and I've bought A LOT. So cross your fingers, toes, pray to whatever baby/fertility/rabbit's foot good luck charms you've got that this all works. Not sure what I'll do if it doesn't. And I apologize in advance for any hormonal bitchiness that occurs in the next 3 weeks.
Complete change of subject but very funny. We were sitting at dinner tonight talking to Carly trying to decide if she needs a haircut or not. She looked at Daddy and said "Where's your hair, Daddy?" I guess you had to be there, but it was pretty funny. Kids say the darndest things after all.
Feeling sad
Today was the memorial service for Scoop. There must've been 400 people there and I knew pretty much all of them. It just goes to show just how loved Scoop was. He was always kind, always caring, always asked how you were (or my dad or Carly), always willing to help and ALWAYS with a smile on his face. Definitely a sad day. His parents are still alive too which makes it just doubly hard. God bless them in their 80's and his beautiful baby granddaughter who is 1 1/2. His absence will be felt on every show and the rest of the country will miss him too since he was the close up camera on nearly every show he worked on. We miss you Scoopy.
Chapin was here this week (left this morning) and we did plenty of mall shopping. We had a great time, ate and drank a lot. I always like it when she visits and I always get a little homesick for her and Caz when she leaves. I hate that we're so far away. Thank goodness for email. Carly really enjoyed having her "Auntie Chappy" around too. They had a blast. Now, I just have to figure out how to make another trip to Sydney soon. It's been 4 years since we were last there. We're due for a trip.
A little change
Well, I decided to change the look of the ol' blog. Of course that erased all my links so I had to reset them. I have no idea why some are brighter pink and some aren't, but they all work so that's what's important.
Went to another all day crop with Ginger and my Foxy girls today. Sat a very fun table with Paula, Wendy and Bucket. Our own little CKU reunion. We had a great time. I got 9 pages done (and half of another). Not great but not bad. Since I'm finally done with 2004, I'm just happy to be working on 2005. Hopefully, I'll get some more crop time in the next few weeks so I can keep plugging away.
Chapin arrives tomorrow. I see four days of shopping in my future
Trick or Treat
Okay, posting a few days late but Carly's first Trick or Treating was a HUGE success. We went over to Amanda's house for pizza before going out. There were about 8 kids and at 6PM, we all started out in her neighborhood. By the 2nd house, Carly looked in her pumpkin and said "I want sommore." She pretty much got that Halloween concept down quickly. The group kind of got away from each other but we stuck with Katrina (the other Minnie Mouse), Alli (a cute cow), Mollie and Brian. Carly and Katrina were SO good. They said "Trick or Treat" at every house, a few "Happy Halloween's" sprinkled in and they always said "Thank You." Very proud of both of them. After about an hour, plenty of candy in their buckets, they got tired and we headed back. Thank goodness for Daddy's doing the carrying. Once we got back to Amanda's, they had their second wind and ran around for another hour. All in all, a very successful Halloween. Boo!
